ABOUT EMRO

EM Research Organization, Inc. (also known as EMRO) was established in 1994 to achieve the philosophy of Professor Dr. Teruo Higa; making a sustainable society based on co-existence and co-prosperity, built on safety, convenience, low-cost, high quality, and exchange of quality information. The philosophy proposed by Dr. Higa can be further understood from his books, in particular, An Earth Saving Revolution.

We call the technology that utilizes EM•1®, EM Technology™. There are many applications of EM Technology™, within the fields of agriculture, waste treatment, construction, education, welfare, health and more. EM Technology™ makes it possible to reuse resources which can lead to cost savings. Through EM Technology™, various environmental problems can be solved and a comfortable living environment can be provided to everyone.
Research and Development in relation to EM•1® Products

Our office not only oversees the manufacturing of EM•1® Products around the world, we conduct microbial research specifically related to Effective Microorganisms™ developed by Dr. Higa. This allows us to continuously improve our quality control standards.

As EM•1® spreads, various kinds of secondary products have been developed. We apply our own exclusive technology and know-how to actively implement joint technological and product developments. We strive to create value added natural products.
Serving Communities

We promote and introduce EM Technology™ to municipalities at local and national levels. Two examples of governmental projects include working on a sanitation project for the improvement of environmental health with the Ministry of Health of Kenya, and the introduction of EM Technology™ with the Vietnamese Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment. We also offer technical support to Non-Profit Organizations (NPOs) and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) around the world, such as Asia Pacific Natural Agriculture Network (Thailand), EARTH University (Costa Rica), Jeonju University (South Korea), Meio University (Japan), United Networks For Earth Environment (U-Net of Japan), EM Bokashi Network (Japan), and Environment Learning Network (EL-Net of Japan). The number of NPOs that apply EM•1® has increased every year in efforts to create a better environment for future generations.
